Aspire K3 Battery

This is the same Aspire K3 battery that comes with the K3 starter kit.

It can be used with other tanks that are about 18mm (same diameter) but do not use with low/sub-Ohm coils. That means no coils that have a resistance of say, less than 1.2Ω. We do not know the specific minimum resistance but assume 1.2Ω to be on the safe side.

Note: This is a 510 style battery which has a hole in the middle at the top. The protruding thread located on the bottom of your tank screws into that hole. If you don't have a tank with that protruding screw thread, you need a different battery, unless you're using an adapter.

The K3 battery operates at a fixed 5.5V, which is approx 16W using a 1.8Ω coil and approx 18W using a 1.6Ω coil.

The packaging comes with authenticity hologram and scratch panel.

Important safety information about e-cigarette batteries and chargers

Users of electronic cigarettes must be very cautious when charging and using all types of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and this includes built-in mod batteries.

If misused, mistreated or mishandled, lithium-ion batteries pose a serious safety issue.
Please familiarise yourself with best practice and play it safe.

  • BE AWARE - lithium-ion batteries can provide very high currents
  • BE AWARE - they can also discharge very quickly when short circuited
  • BE AWARE - when a battery discharges too rapidly it can result in overheating, rupture or explosion
  • BE AWARE - take care not to over-tighten the screwed connection because this can cause damage
  • DON'T leave batteries unattended while charging (disconnect if you go out or go to bed)
  • DON'T heat, incinerate or reverse polarity (don't put a battery in the wrong way)
  • DON'T over-charge or over-discharge
  • DON'T store your batteries with keys or metal objects because this can result in short circuit
  • DON'T store your batteries in pockets as they're more likely to come into contact with other metal items and cause a short circuit
  • DON'T charge with a charger that charges with too much current for your battery
  • DON'T USE batteries that have signs of the plastic wrapper of film peeling off because short circuits are more likely
  • DON'T over-tighten the screwed connection because this can cause damage
  • DO remove batteries from the charger as soon as they are fully charged (usually when the light turns green)
  • DO always follow the manufacturer's advice and guidance for your particular product
  • STOP using a battery if it stop performing correctly, for example if it's not holding its charge or it appears damaged in some way
  • STOP using your batteries or device if you feel excessive heating
  • ONLY use the correct charger supplied with your kit (do not mix and match components)
  • CHARGE in a fire-proof charging bag or on a fire-proof surface (never a combustible surface)
  • LOOK OUT for the CE mark that indicates chargers comply with European safety standards
  • CLEAN the battery centre pin and charger contact at least once a week with tissue or alcohol wipes
  • BATTERY PAIRS - ensure the batteries are of the same charge level, 'marry up' pairs to ensure the workload is evenly spread
  • INSPECT regularly the battery or battery area of your device for any sign of overheating such as swelling or blistering, if signs of overheating are evident, no matter how small they may be, stop using the device immediately

We will not be held responsible for damage if there is any modification of the batteries or chargers in any form.

We are not responsible for any damage or injury caused by the misuse, mishandling or mistreatment of lithium-ion batteries and/or chargers.

New batteries

All lithium e-cig batteries need to have some charge in them to stay healthy, so they come part charged and ready to use.

The first time you recharge your battery ensure you give it a full charge which could take 4-5 hours, depending on the battery.

Don't overcharge the battery, when it's charged and the light on the charger indicates charged, remove the battery from the charger.

Battery Safety Information

Important notes about charging batteries

  • Ensure you have a good quality charger.
  • Always use the correct charger for the battery you are charging.
  • Never leave batteries unattended while charging, unplug before you go to bed or go out.
  • Don't charge batteries on combustible surfaces such as carpets or surfaces that could be damaged by heat.
  • When the battery is fully charged unplug it. Ideally let the battery rest for a few hours after charging.
  • Don't let the battery drain of power completely, it's recommended to recharge the battery when it is low on power, not totally empty.
  • Don't leave the battery without any power at all when it's not in use - this can result in a less usable battery.
  • Don't heat or incinerate batteries.
  • Don't charge damaged batteries.
  • If a battery becomes hot when you're charging it, stop charging immediately and let it cool down before you handle it further.

If you're using a mod with removable batteries, the manufacturer often recommends that it is advisable to remove the batteries and to charge them separately, ie don't charge them in situ via the USB.

How to store and look after your batteries

Storing batteries properly extends the life of the battery and keeps them from becoming a safety hazard.

  • Store batteries away from metal objects including items such as keys and coins (so avoid leaving them in your pocket).
  • Store batteries in a dry, cool place which is not subjected to extremes of temperature or humidity.
  • If you live in a hot location batteries can be stored in a refrigerator (but don’t freeze them). If you do this, you must seal them in an airtight plastic bag to maintain the right moisture level.
  • When storing lithium batteries for a period of time, ideally leave them about 40% charged - this minimises degradation and allows the battery to slowly discharge itself, which is crucial for its operational health.
  • Always store batteries with the positive and negative terminals away from each other so they can’t begin conducting electricity idly.
  • Avoid storing new and old batteries together because there is a risk that the newer ones will conduct electricity into the older ones.
  • Dispose of batteries safely and in accordance with regulations (this is likely to be a specific lithium-ion facility at a recycling centre).

Regular cleaning of your e-cig battery is essential

Good clean contact between your e-cig battery and clearomizer/tank is essential for the best heat, vapour and flavour, so regular cleaning is essential (every couple of weeks or so for example).
Rubbing alcohol/surgical spirit on a Q tip/cotton bud is ideal. Clean the outside of the connection/contact area (for eGo batteries) and the inside too ensuring that you hold the battery upside down so gravity can take away any excess fluid. Paper towel can be used to dry the area if necessary.

For stubborn grime a cocktail stick is ideal for the threaded grooves, taking care not to break it off inside the battery, but don’t use anything metal.

Problems with batteries and charging - what can go wrong?

Batteries are tested before they leave the manufacturer but this doesn’t mean there will never by a faulty battery in circulation. However, if you’re having problems with a battery (and it’s relatively new) there are other things to consider and eliminate.

If you’ve purchased batteries from one source and chargers from another there may be a compatibility problem, ie a slight difference in the size of the battery thread and the tank device or, and this is much more serious, the charger may not be intended to charge your particular e-cig battery and there may be voltage issues and therefore a serious safety risk.

There is an inherent risk with the use of any battery

Use special caution when working with e-cigarette batteries as they are very sensitive to charging characteristics and may overheat or explode if mishandled or misused.
The user must ensure they have sufficient knowledge and take sufficient care in charging, discharging, assembly and storage.

Healthy Start Ltd is not responsible for damage if there is any modification of the batteries or chargers nor is Healthy Start Ltd responsible for any damage caused by the misuse and/or mishandling of any batteries and chargers.

Healthy Start Ltd will not be held responsible or liable for any injury, damage, or defect, permanent or temporary that may be caused by the improper use, due care and attention and storage of batteries.

Product Warranties

Use this internal link for our returns and refunds policy.

Electronic Cigarette Co (Healthy Start Ltd) offers the original buyer product warranties as set out below, which become effective from the date of purchase. During the warranty period, we will, at our discretion, repair or replace items that are defective.

These warranties give the purchaser specific limited rights, in addition to those rights under applicable local law. There are one or two exceptions, therefore, if an individual product page on our website stipulates a specific longer or shorter warranty period, that warranty takes precedent over those below.

Our warranties never provide cover for physical damage, misuse, or breakages.

Scratches and discoloration from regular use is considered normal wear and tear and is not covered by warranty.

Manufacturers are likely to require their serial number before providing a replacement item. This is due to the increasing amount of counterfeits in circulation. Please keep your packaging with the serial number, or take pictures of it before you discard it.

Batteries (eGo and 510 style)

Rechargeable e-cigarette batteries, both eGo and 510 style, come with a 28 day warranty and have a life expectancy of anything from 3 - 9 months, depending on usage and brand. The guarantee covers any manufacturing defects and any repairs, or replacements, if deemed to be faulty or beyond repair. The warranty doesn't provide for physical damage, misuse, or general wear and tear. Ensure you treat your battery well. Click here for our e-cig battery problems page for further information.

Chargers

USB chargers, wall chargers, USB car chargers and other battery chargers are covered by warranty for a period of 28 days. Physical damage, misuse, and general wear and tear are not covered.

Coils

These are consumable items lasting anything from a few days to a couple of months and there is no warranty applicable. Issues with coils are often caused by improper priming, letting the tank run low or drawing too frequently. Please click here for more information about how to prime e-cig coils correctly and it will guide you through to coils burning too. Coils are sold as a single-use disposable item and are covered by a DOA (dead on arrival) warranty only.

Drip Tips/Mouthpieces

These items are non returnable and are not covered by warranty but defective items will be refunded or replaced.

E-Liquid

Defective liquids will be replaced or refunded. This applies to e-liquid that is out of date or has a manufacturing defect.

Lithium-ion Batteries (18650 etc)

These consumable items are not covered by a warranty. Expect a typical lifetime of 300 charges when used properly.

Mods

Box style mods are covered for 90 days from date of purchase. The guarantee covers manufacturer defects and any repairs, or replacements, if deemed to be faulty or beyond repair. The warranty does not cover misuse, damage or general wear and tear. Any replacement provided does not increase the original warranty period.

Pod Kits

Pod style kits are covered for 90 days from date of purchase. The guarantee covers manufacturer defects and any repairs, or replacements, if deemed to be faulty or beyond repair. The warranty does not cover misuse, damage or general wear and tear. Any replacement provided does not increase the original warranty period.

Standard Kits

The kits comprise many parts and it's the individual parts that would be subject to their individual warranty cover, for example, an eGo or 510 style battery will usually be 30 days. Physical damage, misuse, or general wear and tear is not covered.

Tanks

The tank itself should last quite some time (usually many months). The heating element inside (the atomizer or coil head) will need to be replaced regularly (1 to 2 weeks on average). Both the tank and the coil heads are covered for faulty on arrival only (DOA). Take great care not to lose the seals on the tank or it will cause it to leak.

Please be aware that plastic/polycarbonate tanks are not recommended for use with abrasive e-liquids or particularly acidic e-liquids such as some fruit flavours. Some ingredients in e-liquid can cause cracking, frosting or even melting of plastic tanks. Abrasive and acidic flavours and flavourings include, but are not limited to, absinthe, cinnamon, spearmint, citrus fruit, cola etc. Please bear this in mind if you're using an e-cig with any type of plastic tank. Glass and metal tanks are impervious to these ingredients and are suitable for all e-liquids.

Rebuildable Atomizers & DIY Wire

There is no warranty applicable but manufacturing faults are covered.
